Alerts

Alerts in TNI are used to detect problems on computers. Alerts are displayed as icons.

List of alerts

Alerts are configured and managed in the TNI Settings Alerts . Each alert can be enabled or disabled, and some alerts provide additional configuration options.

Device information is out of date

This setting displays a warning for devices that have not been scanned for more than a specified number of days. You can set the threshold from 1 to 9999 days.

For example, if you specify 30 days (the default value), the alert is displayed only for devices whose last scan was performed more than 30 days ago.

An additional option allows alerts to be displayed for devices that have never been scanned.

Disk space alert

One or more logical partitions on the asset have low free disk space.

In the alert settings, you can specify the threshold for the disk space alert in gigabytes or as a percentage of the total disk space.

Antivirus problems

Antivirus software is not installed, is disabled, or has out-of-date virus definitions.

Firewall problems

No firewall is detected, or the firewall is disabled.

Auto-update status

Auto-update is disabled.

Service Pack is out of date

The installed Service Pack is out of date or not installed at all.

Software presence tracking

Shows the list of tracked software.

Software tracking can be managed from the Software accounting mode.

License expired / expiring

Displays alerts for devices (and the software installed on them) that are linked to licenses nearing expiration in the License Management module.

For the expiration warning, you can specify how many days before the license expires the alert is displayed, from 0 (warn only on the last day of the license) to 300.

For the alert to work correctly, the license validity periods should be specified in the License Properties.

S.M.A.R.T. drive diagnostic alerts

Notifies you when any selected S.M.A.R.T. parameter exceeds its configured threshold.

Using alerts

The Alerts page in the Settings window allows you to disable individual alert types and configure additional settings for the disk space alert.

Alerts can be viewed in the Common reports mode:

Group summary contains a complete list of alerts for the devices in the selected group. All alerts in the Storage can be viewed in the summary for the root group.
The Alerts category in the selected asset report displays all alerts for the selected asset or assets. The number of alerts for the selected assets is displayed to the right of the category in the Sidebar. A shortcut to Alert Settings appears when you hover the mouse pointer over the category.

Alert messages can be included in the Table report when creating a custom template.

The Alerts presence assistant displays the number of alerts in the network tree, lets you view the alerts for each asset in a tooltip, and allows you to hide devices that have no alerts.

When creating an alerts report, use this assistant to hide assets that have no alerts.
