New action adding

Actions allow to notify and take some measures if the created probes change their statuses.

There are two ways of creating new actions:
1. Creating different actions for one monitor.
Сhoose the appropriate monitor in the monitors list, go to its properties form (using shortcut menu or Enter button) and choose section Actions. This section is also availabe while New monitor adding.
2. Creating the same action for several monitors.
Select the monitors you want to create action for with the same parameters and choose in menu Моnitor or in contextual menu Add action.

In section Action you can:

  • View the list of already added actions;
  • Add new action pressing Add button;
  • Select the existing action and edit its properties using Edit button;
  • Delete the selected action pressing Delete button;
  • To test run the action using Test button.

The list of the added actions is divided into two columns: Name and Conditions.
In the first column the action name is displayed, in second column displays the conditions this action is executed under.
Also you can temporarily disable the action by unchecking it. Press Add to add new action.

You can:

  • сhoose type of action to be added from the dropdown list Action type;
  • enter the action name into the field Action name (this field is filled in automatically during the action type selection).
  • choose conditions this action will be executed under: Green — the monitor has changed to green status, Red — to red status, Black — to black status, as well as to set the quantity of the repeated one color statuses after which the action will be executed;
  • enter the text message into the box Alert message, it will be used during the action performance.

Press button Insert macros, to add macroses to the text mesages:

  • %TIME_STAMP% — time stamp;
  • %MONITOR_NAME% — monitor name to which action belongs;
  • %MONITOR_COLOR% — state acquired by the monitor;
  • %IP_ADDRESS% — device network address;
  • %PORT% — port checked by the monitor;
  • %HOST_NAME% — device host name;
  • %DESCRIPTION% — text description of the monitor to which the action belongs;
  • %RESULT% — probe result.

Choose Default message, to select text message by default.
Go to section Action to edit certain action properties.
After pressing OK button the action will be automatically added to the monitor actions list.
