Software Storage Assistants

Software Storage Assistants is a tool for displaying additional textual and graphical information in the software tree, as well as for searching and filtering software components or installers based on specified criteria.

Working with Assistants

Adding Assistants

To add an assistant, follow these steps:
  1. Click the Add Assistant icon on the toolbar above the software tree list.
  2. Select the assistant type from the dropdown menu.
  3. If necessary, configure the assistant’s condition.

Example of setting up the “Software Bitness” assistant:

Select the required condition, and the software storage list will display only the software that meets the specified assistant parameter.

If an assistant is selected but is inactive (semi-transparent icon), all conditions for this assistant are displayed, regardless of previously selected conditions.

Any number of assistants can be added simultaneously.
Assistants are saved when the program is restarted.

Managing Added Assistants

Added assistants appear in the same area as the Add Assistant icon.

Each added assistant can:

  • Have any selected option for further display by pressing the menu button Add menu ico
  • Be toggled on or off by clicking on the assistant’s icon.
  • Be removed from the list

List and Description of Assistants

Each assistant is designed to display specific additional information in the software tree and contains its own conditions. When an assistant is active, each network node is checked for compliance with this condition.

Deployment Package Readiness

This assistant shows whether all installation parameters and conditions are set for the selected program to ensure successful deployment.

Required criteria include specifying the application’s bitness in the program passport, the installation context, and the deployment method.

It is displayed with an icon  or  depending on compliance with the criteria.

Installation Context

Displays the privileges assigned for the program installation. Possible conditions:

For all users (per-machine)
For the current user (per-user)
Administrative context

Software Bitness

Indicates the bitness specified in the program passport: x32 or x64.

It can be set to display all bitnesses by selecting the corresponding condition

Note Contents

Each software item can have a note attached—an annotation added by the TSD user in the Software Editor mode.

When adding an assistant, specify text that will serve as the search criterion in the software list.

The indicator displays a note icon for devices that meet the condition.

Hovering over the note will show a tooltip with the full note text.

Displaying note conditions is case-sensitive. For example, if the word “Test” appears in the program passport text, then for the note to be successfully displayed in the software list, the text in the passport note must fully match.

Last Deployment Age

This assistant allows you to specify the age in days and set criteria for when a program was installed. It then displays a list of programs that meet the specified parameters.

Hovering over the icon  shows the date and age of the last deployment or deployment attempt of the program.
