Network scan wizard allows you to find your network devices and add them to monitoring project.

First of all indicate address range to be scanned. To add new range press Add new range and enter start address and end address into the fields Start address and End address respectively and then press Add button. After probe the address will be automatically added to Ranges list.
Important note: in the present version there is a temporary limitation for the number of IP addresses to be scanned at one time (5000 IP addresses).
To delete address from the list select necessary line in the list and press Delete button. To totally clear the Ranges list use Clear button.
Also you can define additional scanning parameters:
Press Next to start scanning. There comes up a dialog box where scanning process and new network devices are displayed in real time:

First of all Total Network Monitor pings each network address from set range and then composes a list of the devices that responded to a ping. Then Total Network Monitor receives each device physical address and its host name if necessary.
Detected device is added to the list divided into the following columns:
Progress line displays percentage of scanning completion.
To imperatively stop scanning process, press Stop button. Press Next button (wait until it appears), to reach scan results dialog box:

First of all indicate Group name, where all detected devices should be added to. In the Devices list you can uncheck the devices which are not to be added into the monitoring project.

After choosing certain device in the Devices list, you can indicate its following parameters:
Check Update properties of previously found devices to update data about the existing devices instead of adding them into the monitoring project.
Press Finish button and all detected devices will be added into the project. They will appear in the Devices tree in that group which name you had indicated before.
