Show message

Show message action allows showing simple message.

Enter message heading into the field Caption. Choose message type Warning, Error, Information or Confirmation from the dropdown list Type.

Message text itself is set in the section Common in the text field Alert message.

Example of action performance:

Write to log file

Action Write to log file allows to make a record into the chosen log file.

Enter the name of the file where the record should be made (you can set the path to file manually or use dialog box pressing file select icon) into the field Write to file. Set day and time format in the field Time format. The text is entered into the text field Alert message in section Common.

Show tray message

Action Show tray message allows showing message in system tray.

Enter into the field Show message for duration of message display (in seconds). The message text is specified in the field Alert message which is in section Common.
Example of action performance:

Play sound

Action Play sound allоws playing sound file of wav type.

Enter the name of the sound file to be played into the field File name (you can set the path to file manually or use dialog box pressing file select icon).

Execute application

Action Execute application allows starting up third party application.

Enter the name of the file to be executed into the field File name (you can set the path to file manually or use dialog box pressing file select icon).
Specify the command line parameters to be transferred to application at startup into the field Command line. You can use macroses.
Enter the application working path into the field Working path (you can do it manually or use dialog box pressing folder select button).

Send email

Action Send email allows sending e-mail message to user.

Enter the recipient's e-mail address into the field Recipient. Specify message heading in the field Subject. Message text is entered into the field Alert message in section Common. Choose in SMTP block Detect automatically or Use from options.

To specify other settings of mail service (SMTP servers addresses, authorization parameters, senders' e-mail addresses) use Mail settings. 

Send jabber message

Action Send jabber message allows sending Jabber message to user.

In the field Jabber ID specify Jabber identifier of the user you want to send message and server name where he is registered (name and server should be separated by @ symbol). Enter message heading into the field Subject.
Message text is entered into the field Alert message in section Common.

To specify other settings (identifier of user which message will be sent, server and port number) use Messengers settings. 

Write to event log

Action Write to event log allows writing into Windows event log. Logging is made only into Application journal on behalf of Total Network Monitor application.

Choose message type: Information, Warning, Error, Success, Audit failure or Audit success from the dropdown list Event type. Message text is entered into the field Alert message in section Common.

Important note! If the event log is overloaded, logging won't be made. To do it clear the Application journal.

Restart computer

Action Restart computer allows restarting (switching off) both local and remote computers under Windows OS control.

Before the computer will be rebooted or turned off enter the time in seconds into the field Timeout (this time will enable the system to correctly close all working applications and save all data). Check Force computer shutdown, to shutdown computer without awaiting for correct close of applications.

You can choose operation type in the group Operation. Check Restart to reboot and Shutdown — to turn off.

Enter user name and the password into the fields User and Password respectively (user should have right for computer restart).

Message text to be displayed on restart is entered into the field Alert message in section Common.

Restart service

Action Restart service allows restasrting both local and remote Windows service.

Choose from the dropdown list or manually set the service name to be restarted in the field Service. 
Important note! Service list is formed of the available services in the local machine.

Enter user name and the password into the fields User and Password respectively (user should have right for service restart). You can use available services update button.

Execute script

Action Execute script allows executing script in VBScript or Jscript languages.

Choose interpretator for script executing (VBScript or Jscript) in the group Script type.
Enter into the field Main script function the name of main function to which control on script execution will be transferred. Set maximum time for script execution in the field Timeout (value is set in seconds).
The code itself you can enter into the field Script code.
